Motor Skills = Healthy Lifestyle

A recent study published in the LA Times this week found a link between object-control skills in childhood and a healthy lifestyle.

“Our findings suggest that object control skills should be targeted through school and community interventions as a key strategy in promoting subsequent cardiorespiratory fitness. It is important that such skills are taught during the primary or elementary school years as children are at an optimal age in terms of motor skill learning.”

Soccer Shots not only prepares children for participation on a soccer team but also increases future physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

The Soccer Shots program is designed to provide the following:
· Increased soccer-specific skill sets like ball control, dribbling, passing, trapping, and scoring goals
· Increased psychomotor development through fun fitness activities
· Introduction to group and team concepts
· Increased confidence and self esteem
· Appreciation for team concepts like cooperation, teamwork, and encouragement
· Positive personal value traits in areas of honesty and respect
· Development of active lifestyle habits
